Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Our hearts are with you as you speak truth to power, even as you experience suppression and silencing by the Japanese government. We know that you will remain strong in calling for global justice, for human rights and dignity, and democratic representation everywhere.
We join you in opposing globalization that results in unregulated political power of large multinational corporations and trade agreements which foster inequities, poverty, global warming, health concerns as well as other life and death issues. It is outrageous that the G8 countries represent only 14% of the world population, yet they have monopolized the world's economic output, are responsible for the world's nuclear weapons, and 72% of the world's military power.
The majority of the people in the United States are opposed to our government's policies and involvement in the G8 summit. We join you in struggle and thank you for being visible in your resistance against the G-8 summit and all that it stands for.

兄弟姉妹のみなさん、

皆さんが日本政府の抑圧と沈黙強要の中で、権力に対して真実を突きつけて闘っているとき、私たちの心は常に皆さんと共にあります。皆さんが、国際的正義、人民の権利と尊厳、民主的な労働者代表制の普遍的な実現を要求して闘い続けておられることを承知しています。

　私たちは皆さんと共に、巨大多国籍企業の野放図に拡大した政治的権力や、格差、貧困、地球温暖化、健康問題など生死に関わる問題を助長する自由貿易協定へと行き着くグローバリゼーションに反対して闘っていきます。G8諸国の人口は世界の14％に過ぎないのに、全世界の経済生産を独占し、核と軍事力の72％をももてあそんでいるのは、本当に許しがたいことです。

　アメリカの大多数の人民は、政府の政策とG8サミットへの参与に反対しています。私たちは皆さんと共に闘います。そして、G8サミットとそれが表象する全てに対し、皆さんが明確に反対の意思表示をされていることに感謝します。
